What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
During making this magazine I have learnt how to use Photoshop. I learnt how to use the cropping tool, how to change colours of font, adding text to pictures, making fonts different and moving and rotating texts. I had a problem with Photoshop at the start as I didn’t know how to use it, but now i feel i have more confidence in using it.
How did you attract/address your audiance?
I have also chosen to attract the audience using people that attend the school so that others recognise them, therefore want to pick it up and read about what there up to.The pupils on the cover are all between the ages of 16 and 18 which is my target audience for the magazine which makes that age group want to read it as there of the same age and they can relate to them. I have also chosen specific colours i.e. purple as it is feminine and masculine, blue as it is also feminine and masculine and pink which is feminine but males like it too. I have also put interesting things on the sell lines to make people actually want to read it, what 6th form students are actually interested in.
Who would be the audiance for your media product?
My magazine has a target audience of 16-18 year olds at Camden school for girls sixth form as it covers issues that relate to that particular age group i.e. drugs and sex. The reader interacts with the magazine as they feel the magazine is entertaining them with the information inside and they feel they can relate to the topics and issues that are being raised.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
My media product would be published by the school as only people in the 6th form would really want to read it, I doubt very much anyone outside of Camden 6th form would find it interesting as the topics it covers are to do with the 6th form and the pupils. The magazine is free so anyone can pick it up and read it, 6th form students don’t have a lot of money so they won’t have money to spend on a magazine that they have some interest in but not a lot. It is published every month so the magazine has a lot to talk about other than if it was weekly than not much would be going on and there wouldn’t be much to read.
The magazine would be promoted by the school in newsletters sent home, in the common room where all the 6th formers hang out and posters around the 6th form building showing that it’s exclusive for 6th formers.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?
I have chosen to use the picture I did for the front cover as it gives a good view of the school and presents the social group (school pupils) well, they are smiling and chatting on some steps inside the school making it look like a sociable school and that the social group seem like fun people who like socialising. It gives a sense of community. There body language is slouchy and relaxed giving the implication that they are relaxed at the school and around their friends. They are wearing typical teenage clothing which presents the social group as likeing similar things i.e music and sharing similar influences.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My media product is similar to other media products as it has sell lines which attract the audience, one main picture for the background which gives a rough outline about the product, a clear title for the product to show more detail about the product and the price of the product. The difference to a real media product is that it has more than one person on the background picture. Generally magazines have one person so the attention is generally focused on them, on my media product I have choose to use several people as it gives a sense of community and friendship which schools are generally about, giving a rough outline to the audience what the school is about and what key features will be in the magazine. I have also chosen to challenge stereotypical forms and conventions of a magazine by using a speech bubble for the title of the magazine to sit. The speech bubble is coming out of one of the people’s mouths in the picture to suggest that they enjoy the school they attend and there shouting about it for others to join.
